The Referee Group is a referee association serving the Greater Seattle and Puget Sound soccer community. We develop, mentor, assign, and support referees while partnering with clubs and leagues to strengthen the game.

Our Story

From a simple idea to a thriving referee community.

The Referee Group started with a single observation: referees were being assigned to matches, but they weren't being developed. Turnover was high, mentorship was scarce, and clubs were frustrated.

So we built something different — an organization that treats referee development as a system, not an afterthought. From recruitment to retirement, every piece matters. Today TRG serves 1,500+ active referees, partners with 40+ clubs and leagues, and assigns over 25,000 matches annually.
